Questions, answered
Everything people usually ask before running their first scan.
- What does Snout check?
- Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini name your business when someone asks a local buying question, such as "best gym in Dagenham" or "who does the cheapest MOT in Ilford". We run about 15 of these prompts, tied to your category and town, every week.
- Which AI assistants do you test?
- ChatGPT (OpenAI), Perplexity, and Gemini (Google), each through its official API with web search turned on. Google's AI Overviews are not covered yet.
- How often does it run?
- Once a week, early Monday, with an email summary the same morning. The free scan runs on demand in under 30 seconds.
- How is this different from the SEO I already pay for?
- SEO optimises for Google's ranked links. AI assistants choose and summarise sources by different rules, and most SEO work does not measure whether you are named in those answers at all. Different ranking, different game, and right now nobody is checking it.
- What is the difference between the free scan and a paid plan?
- The free scan runs 3 prompts against one engine (Perplexity) and shows whether you are mentioned and which competitors are, instantly and with no signup. A paid plan runs all 15 prompts across all three engines every week, and adds the trend over time, the competitor leaderboard, citation sources, and the fix list.
- How much does it cost?
- Solo is £29 a month (1 location, 15 prompts). Pro is £79 a month (3 locations, 50 prompts, competitor tracking, PDF export). Agency is £199 a month (10 client workspaces, white-label reports). Prices are in GBP and billed monthly. There is no free plan; the free scan is the trial.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes, from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing month. There is no contract and no cancellation fee.
- What do you do with my data?
- We store your business details, your prompts, and the AI answers we collect, so you can see history and trends. We do not sell your data or share it beyond the sub-processors that run the service. When you close your account, we delete your business data and scan history. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
